Bangistan trailer

In the end of July 2014 Kick, Indian action film partly recorded in Warsaw, debuted in cinemas. This year debuts Bangistan, Indian film partly recorded in Krakow (Polish: Kraków), Poland.

Watch official trailer of Bangistan, or in cinemas starting on 31.07.2015.

There is also another video – music video Saturday Night. The image of Kraków isn’t too real of course, but there are some real things in there too:

  • traditional Krakow clothing – in the very beginning of the video.
  • a band marching through the town. Some time ago I was writing about street bands in Warsaw – more exactly about their monument. The musicians wear regular clothes, not traditional clothing. The bands are usually travelling through courtyards.
  • Polish language. The first two sentences were “Więc zaczynamy. Idziemy w tany.” which means “So we begin. We go dancing (=partying).” Tany is bit old-fashioned word for taniec (dance).
  • sprayed mimes (0:40 and 1:55) or living sculptures – they’re really standing in Krakow’s Old Town. If you want a photo together, pay (as much as you wish). It’s nice to pay them anyway if you’re taking their photo. It’s a tough job.
  • Old Town.
  • historical reconstructions are popular in Poland, but the music video’s armors/clothes/flags were a chaotic mix.

Will you watch Bangistan?
